Happy Christmas Eve! I hope you are all having a lovely monday, I definitely enjoyed getting to sleep in this morning. Before my camera fills up with millions of Christmas photos I thought I should finish up my 21 before 22 list! Here are the last 11!
11. Yep! I made this fringe necklace earlier in the summer and I love it, I still wear it all the time. It's even got repinned quite a bit on pintrest, fringe is the best!
12. Nope. This is my goal EVERY SUMMER. I really want to go on a sweet little picnic with pretty food and wine, it still hasn't happened. Next summer.
13. Yes! Sarah is my very lovely 10 year old cousin, and she is like my little sister. She has me to thank for her hair twirling, love of hair bows and sass! We spent a lot of time at the pool this summer and went on a few very fun breakfast dates. I love her.
14. Nope. Not even close. I thought this would be a fun challenge since I own like 4 shirts. Shirts are just not my thing.
15. I think so! I pretty much go for a walk every day, I can't stand being inside all the time, even when it's minus 40...
16. I looked. And looked. And didn't find anything. This is still a goal.
17. This was one of the most fun challenges! I started collecting vintage juice pitchers and it has slowly become an addiction, it seems that every time I go the thrift store there is a new cute one waiting for me. So far I've kept it at 4, but I definitely want this collection to grow, they're just so sweet, and they make pretty vases!
18. Kind of! I made Focaccia bread earlier this year and it turned out pretty good. My oven doesn't really like bread. However, I'm moving out in a week and I have my fingers crossed that this new oven will like bread!
19. Yes!!!! That was the most exciting part of my August!
20. Ummm. Usually? I like baked treats. But I'm going to the gym now, so that kind of helps right?!
21. I didn't end up cooking twice a month but I did more this year than I usually do. I've been really into soup this year, I love soup. So much.
And now it's time to start a new 22 before 23 list! I had so much fun crossing things off this list I can't wait to see what this next year as a 22 year old holds!
xo, T.

d.i.y. glitter jars.

I hope your are all having a lovely beginning to our last week of July! This weekend was wonderful, super warm, a little thunderstorm and best of all, a day spent with my lovely cousin Sarah! It's been a while since we've had a hang out day together, so, after lunch at the Pancake House we spent the afternoon doing crafts. These glitter jars we're super simple and fun to make. And also rather messy, we were both super sparkly by the end...but we do tend to make enormous messes whenever we make things..so you may not end up quite as glittery! The idea was taken from this post on A Beautiful Mess.
These jars are a super fun and easy craft, especially to do with kids! I think they turned out super sweet. Sarah chose to fill hers with nailpolish and I filled mine with pens and markers!
Things you need:
_mason jars.
_white glue.
_paint brushes.
_glitter. we used martha stewart. we are martha stewart girls.
1_paint your design in glue onto the inside of your jar using a paintbrush. if you plan on doing multiple colours like we did apply the glue for each colour individually so that the colours don't mix.
2_pour a little bit of glitter into the jar and swirl around until the glue is coated. tap excess out onto a piece of paper. use a dry, clean paintbrush to remove excess glitter on the rest of the jar.
3_let dry a little bit and then repeat the process for each colour or pattern! sarah chose stripes and dots and I chose messy polka dots. I think they turned out super cute!

| bows make lovely little presents. |
I adore hairbows.
I'm not entirely sure where this all stems from, but all I know is that the moment I discovered them I never turned back. Apparently it wasn't completely my decision either, there are images of me at a very young age proudly wearing a variety of big fluffy hairbows. I'm sure this surprises no one.
So, of course what could be sweeter than making your own little hairbows? Not a whole lot. This little project was the result of my darling little cousin's ninth birthday. Although we had celebrated her birthday earlier in the month with large amounts of presents and cake I still wanted something special to hand her on the actual day.
The logical result was hairbows. I think I may have babysat her a few too many times when she was younger, as she has adopted a few of my more quirky habits, namely hair twirling, a very large collection of headbands and a huge amount sass.
This D.I.Y was adapted from this little bow belt project I had made earlier in May. They were super quick to make, three took 20 minutes. My cousin got the blue one but I got the black and red ones, which are somewhat reminiscent of Madeline...maybe I've been reading too many french children's books. Maybe this explains something.
Pick some lovely, cheerful fabric.
Cut a strip that is 10" by 3.5". If you want a bigger, fluffier bow cut the strip wider, ie. 6".
Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch. Press and turn inside out, pressing flat.
Stitch short ends together. Press seam and turn so seam is on inside. Press flat.
Cut a smaller 2" by 3.5" strip and sew in the same way as above, stitching the length, pressing and turning inside out. Wrap smaller piece around the centre of the larger piece tightly so that it looks like a bow. Mark how how the shorter piece needs to be and sew the short ends together. Make sure it's not too small, the fabric does need to fit through the centre!
Pull the larger folded piece through the smaller ring. It helps if you start with a corner. Centre the smaller piece and fluff, you're pretty much done!
yay your sweet little bow is finished! While you're at it you my as well make a few extra ones.
Now it's time to turn it into a hair clip. Search through all the drawers in your house until you find some random ugly hair clips you never wear anymore.
Glue them to the back of your hairbow with a glue gun and you're done. How very sweet!
She now has one more to add to her collection! She's just the cutest, and has the best hair. A love of purple and blue hair seems to be genetic...xo.
